He hopes to be a champion of America's working class upon successfully pulling off a political coup
He hopes to be a champion of America's working class upon successfully pulling off a political coup as a third party wild card in this year's presidential race.
And as a well-heeled scion of America's most prominent political dynasty, controversial candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., theoretically has just the means and cachet to do so.
Running as an independent candidate, the multi-millionaire 70-year-old hopeful has been vocal about tackling social inequality plaguing the nation.
'The poor are getting squeezed to death in this country and the middle class no longer exists,' he asserted in an on-air appearance on Newsmax last year.
And his campaign includes promises to raise the minimum wage, prosecute union-busting companies, expand free childcare and cut drug and energy costs
Last month he lamented the 'version of America' that exists today, saying: 'We've become a nation of chronic illness, of violence, of loneliness, depression and division and poverty.
'Our great cities are becoming tent encampments, modern-day Hoovervilles filled with undocumented immigrants and dispossessed Americans and people living in their cars, plagued by mental illness and addiction and despair.'

A DailyMail.com poll last week highlighted that Kennedy, a former Democrat, is siphoning off 9 percent of voters who cast a vote for President Joe Biden in 2020.
Kennedy currently has 7 percent of voter support.
But just how much can Kennedy – who has led a life of extreme privilege – hopes to relate to the 'working poor,' as he describes millions of downtrodden Americans hit by inflation?
Today, the prominent anti-vaccine activist lives among Hollywood's elite and has a home in one of the most exclusive residential enclaves of Los Angeles.
DailyMail.com can reveal that Kennedy and his wife – Cheryl Hines of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm fame – count Dr. Dre, talent manager Scooter Braun, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chelsea Handler and filmmaker Oliver Stone, who directed the 1991 conspiracy movie JFK starring Kevin Costner, as neighbors.
The couple's home in Mandeville Canyon in Brentwood is a vivid demonstration of their gilded life.
Kennedy purchased the home on Mandeville Canyon Road in July 2021 for an eyewatering $6.6million.
The stunning 5,900 sq. ft. Mediterranean-style residence boasts six bedrooms and seven bathrooms and is described as a 'stunning resort-inspired abode' and a 'treat for the senses.'
According to the property listing, the interior has an 'abundance of natural light that creates an ethereal feel.'

Record executive Scooter Braun bought a $65million mansion in the neighborhood shortly after he filed for divorce from his wife, Yael Cohen in 2021
It features an open plan layout with double-height ceilings and large windows.
There's a formal dining area with beamed ceiling for Kennedy and Hines to entertain famous guests, a family room, playroom, breakfast nook and multiple fireplaces.
Outside, there are lush gardens and a 'serene' swimming pool with a waterfall, spa, and Tiki bar.
Hines, 58, sold her previous home, also in Mandeville Canyon, to Chelsea Handler for $5.9million in October 2021.
Last October, Kennedy and Hines were at home when an obsessed stalker – Jonathan Macht, 28 – scaled a wall and broke in.
Jonathan Macht, 28, broke into Kennedy's Brentwood, California, home twice in one day
Macht had also sent hundreds of emails in a three month period.
Kennedy sought a restraining order but instead settled for a promise that Macht, a local realtor, would stay away for the next five years, and not 'harass, intimidate, attack, strike, threaten, assault, hit, abuse, destroy, personal property of, or disturb the peace'.
Renowned security expert Gavin de Becker, who works with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and other public figures, is now helping to protect Kennedy, a longtime friend.
De Becker is also a major contributor to his long-shot campaign, and loaned the Kennedy super PAC $10million, most which was repaid.
In his pursuit for the White House, Kennedy is following in the footsteps of his namesake father, who was tragically assassinated at the bnow-demolished Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles in 1968 during his own presidential bid.
His shocking death followed the assassination of Kennedy's uncle, President John F. Kennedy in Dallas on November 22, 1963.

President Joe Biden, meanwhile, has so far denied Kennedy's request for Secret Service protection as is customary for presidential candidates.
Candidates from a major party polling above 15 percent and independent candidates polling above 20 percent are eligible for Secret Service protection.

He also owns a six-bedroom property on the fabled Kennedy Family compound on Cape Cod located at 50 Marchant Avenue in Hyannis Port, Barnstable.
The home is worth an estimated $3million, per Forbes.
Last August, Forbes estimated his net worth to be about $15 million, which includes joint assets with Hines – substantially less than his cousin Caroline Kennedy, daughter of President John F. Kennedy, who is worth $250 million.
In the 12 months before announcing his presidential bid in April 2023, the environmental attorney pulled in an impressive income of $7.8 million, according to a financial disclosure last June filed with the United States Office of Government Ethics.
This included nearly $1.6million from Los Angeles personal injury law firm Wisner Baum, for which he provides consulting services.
The company website describes Kennedy as a 'resolute defender of the environment.'
He also earned $315,000 from JW Howard Attorneys, a litigation firm.

Furthermore, he earned $5million with his own environmental law firm, Kennedy & Madonna, based in New York City, which represents victims of pollution.
Then there was $516,000 for his role as chairman and chief legal counsel of Children's Health Defense, a nonprofit he formed that has campaigned against vaccines.
Kennedy also reported $150,000 in consulting fees from Marwood Group, a health care advisory firm with offices in New York City, Washington D.C. and London.
And he reported $125,000 from Skyhorse Publishing, which publishes his books and, according to the disclosure, pays him as a consultant.
He also has between $100,000 and $250,000 of Bitcoin, purchased after he spoke at a cryptocurrency conference last year. 'As president, I will make sure that your right to hold and use Bitcoin is inviolable,' he told the crowd.
He has also inherited family money, including shares in Kennedy family trusts, launched as early as 1926 by patriarch Joe Kennedy, RFK Jr's grandfather.
According to Forbes, he also has at least $4million of assets, including a stake in Wolf Point real estate development in downtown Chicago, inherited from his family.
On the financial disclosure, he reported owning between $1.75million and $6.5million of equity in the project.
